Class Description
Ongoing yoga classes continue through four twelve-week sessions during the
year and consist of:
- Fundamentals Yoga
for beginning students, although ongoing
students and students returning to yoga after a break will also benefit.
All students will increase their understanding of the relationship of
each yoga pose to anatomy and how their particular bodies work. The
class provides an introduction to and a strong foundation for yoga
through emphasis on alignment, focused breathing, and awareness of our
physical and emotional conditions at that particular moment.
- All-Levels
Yoga
for continuing students. This
class focuses on deepening the experience of yoga. Like the fundamentals
class, emphasis is on alignment, focused breathing, and internal
awareness. On the other hand, this class covers a greater variety of
asanas and flows, such as the sun salutation, and includes some active
inversions. Beginning students who have good body awareness and no
significant injuries are welcomed to apply.- Level-2
Yoga
for experienced and committed
yoga students. To get to this level, students must commit to the
discipline of a home practice of yoga. This class includes more
difficult asanas, a variety of flows (vinyasas), and consistently
explores active inversions.
-
Gentle Restorative Yoga
is designed specifically for those who are dealing with injuries,
chronic pain, or physical illness. Experience yoga where it excels the
most, as a therapeutic and restorative practice for your physical,
mental and emotional health. Students will learn gentle yoga stretches,
simple Dru yoga sequences, chair yoga, passive restorative poses and
breathing practices. Each class will include instruction on ways for
students to modify the yoga poses to help foster their individual needs
as well as improve core strength, flexibility, and mobility; reduce
stress; and improve pleasure and vitality in their bodies. Ailments that
this class may give relief from include low back or neck pain, Sciatica,
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Frozen Shoulder, Cancer, Fibromyalgia, Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome, Lupus, Arthritis, Asthma, and Diabetes.

Participants will "unpack" the meaning of their dreams through
discussion methods developed by Jeremy Taylor, author of Where People
Fly and Water Runs Uphill. Meditative yoga movements will assist in

years.
